Our
feral cat assistance program promotes the control and care of
feral (untamed outdoor) cats through the humane Trap, Neuter,
Return (TNR) method. On a case by case basis, we provide education
on how to trap and care for the feral cats living near or around
residential homes while at the same time maintaining a peaceful
co-existence with humans. In addition, through our sterilization
subsidy program (and subject to available funds), we pay a portion
of the spay/neuter cost.
When
needed, Actors and Others also serves as a go-between with
individuals and companies unfamiliar with TNR, and has successfully
worked with colleges, corporations and government agencies
as well as apartment buildings, condominiums and neighborhoods
to establish managed programs.
From
time to time we also tackle special projects. With the use
of an old animal control truck dubbed the “Critter Coach,” our
aim is to spread the word about the need and benefits of sterilization
and to provide on-site transportation assistance.
