PLEASE
CALL AND ASK FOR
ASSISTANCE PERSONALLY!
Our Medical Helpline Telephone Number
(818) 897-8760
Medical Assistance Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday Noon to 4:30 p.m.
Please read carefully.
Because of the nature of our assistance and the sheer volume of
requests we receive daily, all those seeking veterinary medical
help must call personally and speak with our medical helpline counselor
at the number listed above during the hours posted. Do not e-mail
or fax as this will delay a response. There are two lines available,
and so if you receive a busy signal or no one answers the line,
the counselor is busy with other callers. You must be patient and
keep trying until your call is answered. With the economic downturn
of recent months, we are receiving more calls than we can handle
in a day. We understand that this may be frustrating, but we are
endeavoring to help as many people as we can.
If your pet is in need of immediate veterinary care where
any delay will put the animal at risk, it is your responsibility
and duty
to take the animal to the veterinarian. Do not wait to talk
with our counselor and please be aware that by doing so there
is no
guarantee that we will be able to provide you with any financial
assistance. Your pet’s health must take priority.
YOUR PET MUST BE SPAYED/NEUTERED
If you qualify for assistance, your pet must be spayed/neutered
or you must agree to have the animal sterilized at the time you
seek medical attention. We will help you pay for the spay/neuter
in addition to the medical assistance.
WE
OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TOWARDS
THE COST OF THE PROCEDURE
If you qualify for
assistance, you will be directed to a low-cost veterinarian
in your area who has agreed to work with us to
offer lower costs, and provided with a financial pledge to
help pay for
the procedure. The office call to diagnose the problem and
any vaccinations are not covered. The level of assistance provided
depends upon the course of action needed, the ability of the
pet
guardian to provide follow-up care and the type of illness
or injury. At no time do we cover the entire procedure. We
will do our best
to help you, but there will be times when we are unable to
provide assistance.

We provide low-cost veterinary referrals, which should not be construed
as an endorsement of any kind. We do not endorse, recommend or
promote any one veterinarian over another. The ultimate decision
and agreement to retain the services of the veterinarian we refer
you to is your sole responsibility as the animal guardian.
