Actors
and Others for Animals is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit
corporation dedicated to the promotion of the humane treatment
of animals. Our main mission is to curb the pet overpopulation
problem by subsidizing spay/neuter surgeries. Together with
other vital services, we are there to help pet guardians
living on a low and/or fixed income care for their beloved
companions.
We
are a community based animal welfare organization serving
the greater Los Angeles area and surrounding counties. When
it comes to hands on assistance for animals, we are unable
to assist pet guardians outside of this region. Please check
your local listings for other similar organizations in your
area. |

In
Recognition of
SPAY DAY
ACTORS AND OTHERS
FOR ANIMALS
will be offering a special program
aimed at sterilizing 400 pet cats!
The purpose of Spay Day is to put the spotlight
on the importance
of spaying and neutering
to control pet overpopulation.
|
At
Actors and Others for Animals our main mission has always
been spay
and neuter and so for us every day is Spay Day!
We have chosen to limit this special program to cats only to draw attention
to
the alarming fact that nearly twice the number of cats than dogs are euthanized
in
our local shelters each year, especially kittens. |
|
|
This
special program has been made possible with the support of
the
PETCO FOUNDATION and a grant from the CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.
|
|
|
The
ground rules are simple: |
|
|
Only
pet cats are eligible, no feral cats. |
|
|
Open
for Los Angeles County resident only. |
|
|
You
must register online between February 23, 2010 and March
9, 2010 and complete the surgery by April 20, 2010. |
|
|
You
must provide your email address. |
|
|
Limit
of three (3) vouchers per household; one voucher per cat. |
|
|
You
will need to choose among ten (10) participating veterinary
clinics. |
|
|
Your
voucher(s) will be mailed to you. |
|
|
You
must schedule an appointment and be sure to tell them you
have a voucher for the “Fix a Feline for Free” program
of Actors and Others for Animals. |
|
|
You
must give the veterinary clinic the original voucher at
the time of surgery. |
|
|
And
remember one voucher per cat, with a limit of three (3)
per household. |
|
|
The
vouchers are only good for the spay or neuter surgery.
If you choose any additional services, including optional
vaccinations, you will be responsible for those costs. |
|
|
The
voucher is as good as cash; it will not be replaced if
lost. |

Remember only 400 vouchers are available for this program,
so be sure to register. |
